Once upon a time there lived a very wise and clever king who had an unique idea to test his people's diligence and care to the country. On one afternoon, silently the king put a big stone in the middle of a street that people used a lot. The stone was jut right in the center of the street which was no not nice looking and blocking people's away around. Apparently, the king wanted to see how his people reacted to such a disturbance on the street.

Not long after then, a farmer passed by that particular street with his heavy carts loading lots of stuff. When he saw the stone, immediately he grumbled, "What lazy people we have here... , a big dangerous stone is not moved out of the street". While complaining, he kept on moving on though, by avoiding that particular stone.

A few moment later, a soldier passed by, singing a victorious song remembering h
is bravery on the battlefield. Due to his excitement he was not careful enough that he tripped over the stone. "Darn ! Why wouldn't people who pass this street move the stone !" This soldier kept on swearing while swinging his sword around . And though he was complaining and upset, he didn't do anything. On the contrary, he stepped over the stone and walked away.

Some time afterwards, a young poor man passed by the street. When looking at the blocking stone, he quietly said to himself, "It's getting dark, if people pass this street and are not careful enough , they will trip over this stone." And despite being very tired after working the entire day, he was still willing to move the stone away from the middle of the street.

Upon doing so, this young man was so surprised to see a thing under the stone he had just moved. A letter and a box, the letter said, "To my people who are willing to move this, blocking stone. Since you have shown your diligince and care towards others, please accept the 5 gold coins int the box as the gift from your king." That poor young man immediately bowed down his head to thank his king for his generosity. The story spread out into the whole town. The king had been successful in teaching the importance of diligence and care towards others, as well as brevery to face obstacles.

In our dialy life, whether it is in career, business or other professional world, we must have faced "the blocking stone" as described above. the blocking stone can mean obstacles, difficulties, burdens or responsibilities in our life. If we face all the above-mentioned problems impatiently, angrily, or try to escape or bla others as trouble makers, we will never learn much from life. In fact, in all difficulties, there must be a blessing in disguise, and there must be leesons that can develop our mentality

Right now, there must be problems as blocking stone that prevent our progress; there is no other way in dealing with them except to crush every blocking stone! Let us all stengthen our mentality, keep up our fighting spirit to face every problem for the sake of better condition, more successful and more meaningful.

Long time ago, there lived a wanderer who loved talking very much. One day, he made a trip that forced him to pass through a deserted forest which was rarely crossed by people. As he was walking int the middle of the forest, suddenly he heard a voice. He was so scared and shocked, but at the same time curious as well. "Whose voice could it be in the middle of such an empty forest?" He whispered to himself. And then, carefully he went to search the source of the voice. Finally, he found that it came from a skeleton pilled up under a big tree. He was really shocked ever.

In disbelief, he encouraged himself to approach upfront and asked. "Hi skeleton... How could you end up in this middle of forest?" Beyond expectation, this skeleton answered, "Hi wanderer, the thing that brought me into this forest is a talkative mouth." Knowing that the skeleton could actually hear and answer, he became so amused and kept on chatting about all stuff. He felt that he had found a miracle.

When he finally finished his trip, he couldn't help but to keep on thinking about his 'findings'. With full spirit, he started to tell everyone that he met about his finding, the talking skeleton. And of course no one believed him. Some even mocked him, "You crazy man ! There is no such thing as a talking skeleton!" . Despite the fact that no one believed his story, he just couldn't stop himslef from talking about it and telling everyone that he met about the talking skeleton.

Finally, the story founds ts way to the palace. In short, the king summoned the wanderer to appear before him and tell him about it. The wanderer started telling the king about this 'talking skeleton' "Your highness, I found a talking skeleton. Perhaps your Highness would like yo inquire about the future of this kingdom to him." Being curious the king asked some of his ministers and guards to go to the forest together by the guidance of the wanderer.

Uppon arriving, with all confidence, the wanderer asked the skeleton, "Hi skeleton, how did you end up into this forest?" This time, no sound came out. The king and all the guards started to get agitated. When the wanderer kept on repeating the same question with louder voice, the skeleton kept silent. All that was heard was the wing blowing and the echo of the wanderer's voice.

Seeing this, the guards looked at the king with such mocking expression on their face. Feeling being fooled, the king went mad. He looked the wanderer and said, "Actually I don't believe a word you say. You really take me as a fool, thinking that I am such a stupid king. I come here just to reveal your lies. And as punishment for giving me such a big lie, you have to take the reponsibility and pay the price!"

The king immediately ordered his guard to chop off the wanderer's head. Afterwards, they put the wanderer's skeleton next to the original skeleton. As soon as the king left the place, suddenly the skeleton said, "Hi wanderer, how did you end up in this forest?" And the wanderer's head answered, "The thing that brought me into the forest is a talkative mouth."

Most often, fights, misunderstandings, and hostilities are created due to the unfit spoken words. Those who like to spread words, most often become less careful and so they cause lots of hurt or even spite and grudge. And though sometimes it seems light, it can be fatal. It will be such a good thing, if at all times we can control ourselves, knowing when and why we have to speak up. Actually, being silent can also be the wisest attitude, like the old saying,
"Silent is golden."

As the story goes, a young beautiful woman was just married a man she loved dearly. After the marriage, this woman lived together with her mother-in-law. Then, there were so many mishaps and unfitting behaviors and views between the two ladies in the house. The mother-in-law somehow always manage to find flaws in almost everthing that her daughter-in-law did. Sharp comments, criticism and all sorts of sarcasms were constantly flowing from the mother-in-law 's mouth. Debate almost took place everyday. Unfortunately, the husband could not do much to improve the situation.

The daughter-in-law seemed unable to sustain her anger anymore. Day to day, taking was poisoning her mind and thoughts. And thus she went to look for his father's best friend who was a medicine seller. She told him all about her sadness and grieves in tears, "And that's why uncle you have to help me in this case, please prescribe a strong dose of poison so that I can have my revenge towards my mother-in-law." After a careful thinking, finally the uncle smiled wisely and answered, "I will give you the poisonous powder under one condition that you will do exactly as I say." The woman agreed. And then the uncle gave her a full pocket of powder. "My dear, to get rid of your mother-in-law, don't use a quick reactive poison. People around you will be very suspicious of her sudden dying. Therefore, I am giving you a slow reactive poison but sure. Mix a little bit of it every now and then into your mom's meals. And remember, you have to cook the meal yourself," said the medicine seller.

Before she left, the medicine seller added up, "Just to make sure that people will not to be suspicious later on, you need to treat your mother-in-law better in days to come, by doing so people will not raise any questions about her death. Treat her with love, respect and show your big heart by not arguing, just giving in to her. Treat your mother-in-law as if she were your own mother.

With such a happier light heart, the woman went home, she obeyed and did whatever the uncle said. Everyday, she spoilt her mother-in-law by cooking all her favorite dishes and served her with all respect and compassion. Without realizing four months had passed, and a big change took place. Being treated with such respect and affection, the mother-in-law was touched and changed her behavior towards her. Things turned around, she started to treat her daughter-in-law as her own one and loved her more and more each day. In the presence of her friends, she complimented and spoke highly of her daughter -in-law's nobility and compassion.

Seeing the changes in her mother-in-law's, abruptly the daughter rushed to see the uncle. "Please unlce, give me the antidote to the poison that you give sometime ago. After doing what you told me, now my mother-in-law has treated me so well and full of love. I also start loving her. I don't want her die from the poison that I gave her every day."

The uncle just smiled and answered, "My dear, don't worry. The powder that I gave you was not poison at all. It actually was tonic to enhance body strength instead." She was dumb founded. "So the real poison actually is what dwells in your head, your attitude towards your mother-in-law. And now all of those poisons have been wiped away by love and affection that you have showered her."

The story above has taught us how incredible the power of love or the power of affection and tender loving care can be. Love and affection bring about care, sincerity, and willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. Love and affection can release us from the strong grip of misunderstanding, bring down the wall of coldness, soften the stubbornness and mellow down hatreds. Love and affection invite peace and bring differences into a good harmony. If all us are willing to give love and affection towards people around us day by day, then life is worth living for.
THE POWER OF LOVE
